Mr. Caro

Welcome to Mr. Caro's sixth grade Social Studies. I'm excited to be teaching our students about the ancient civilizations of the world! Past civilizations have influenced us with farming methods, literature, and governmental ideas to name a few. As the world becomes smaller through technology, I feel that it's important that the younger generation becomes familiar with the world around them. I would like students to realize that the world, albeit different in many parts, is full of wonder and generosity that should be discovered with an open mind and heart.

As a child of a military veteran, I was lucky enough to discover some of those wonders that the world has to offer. I lived in Europe for nine years, four in England and five in Germany. That experience helped shape my respect, understanding and appreciation of different cultures and their people. I realize that as people, we are a lot more similar than different.

After serving in the Air Force for four years, I attended the University of Arizona, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I believe that a classroom is a safe place for students to exchange ideas respectfully and also a place where expectations are high for all students. I look forward to this year and all of its triumphs.
